People Helping People
Financial assistance is available to pay for essential living needs. The
focus is to provide needed aid for a temporary crisis situation, not to
provide permanent support. Clients referred to the Ministry for
financial assistance are interviewed by trained staff. Clients must
provide proof of residence (i.e., utility bill) as well as a social
security cards for each household member. Last year almost 500 families
were helped through the Financial Assistance Program. A summary of the
Financial Assistance Program is available here.
